MontBlanc 1858 160th Anniversary Heritage Collection is a tribute to the fine watchmaking history of Minerva (Today’s Villeret) and climbers challenging to the World’s Seven Peaks. Inspired by the adventure world and pocket clocks and chronograph watches in the 1920s to 1930s, MontBlanc 1858 Collection 2018 is designed for modern adventurers, featuring unique aesthetic designs, complicated functions, different materials and different sizes. It not only shows vintage styles but is injected fearless adventure spirit.
Minerva whose watchmaking history dates back to 1858, is located in Villeret. In 20th century, Minerva was recognized by global watchmakers for accurate and reliable chronograph movements. Legend 19.09 with the most recognizable V-shaped chronograph baseplate bridge appeared in 1909. Calibre 13.20 by Minerva in 1920 is one of earlier manual winding monopusher chronograph movements. Calibre 17.29, at 5.6 thick, was one of the thinnest monopusher chronograph movements in the 1930s. Beyond all doubt, Minerva has a high reputation in the fine watchmaking. The World’s Seven Peaks refer to Seven highest mountains in the World’s seven continents. They are considered as the most dangerous climbing challenge in the world. To today, globally, the adventure challenges only 500 climbers to success.
MontBlanc 1858 Collection 160 Anniversary Geosphere Watch 119347 equipped with MB 29.25 by Villeret shows adventure spirit and innovative capability. MontBlanc 1858 World Time Geosphere displays the world time on two rotatory solid hemispheres. The north hemisphere at 12 O’clock rotates counterclockwise, while the other rotates clockwise. 24-houe scales look more eye-catching against black and rose gold background. The white line symbolizing the prime meridian on north/south hemisphere is coated with Super-LumiNova®. The second time zone display is set at 9 O’clock. Local date display is set at 3 O’clock. Thanks for the two hemispheres, Multiple time zones display more directly. Continents on the hemispheres coated with Super-LumiNova® have higher readability at night. The location of the World’s Seven Peaks is marked on the north/south hemisphere with red points. Mont Blanc, a compass and two ice-axes engraved on the case back symbolize the heritage of mountain adventure spirit.
MontBlanc 1858 Collection Geosphere Bronze Watch 119347 is limited to 1858 pieces in the world, water resistant to 100 meters. Bronze watch case is equipped with brown vintage calfskin strap by Pelletteria. Overall vintage scent and mature charm stand out. 42mm×12.8mm case has brushed surface, resistant to scratches. To echo to bronze case, vintage hour markers, rose gold-plated Cathedral-style central hands, rose gold-plated track-typed scale ring adorn the black dial.
